Rick Bragg 

Rick Bragg is in love with New Orleans. He doesn't live here anymore, but part of his heart is here and that part is broken. He knows, as we know, that the spirit of this town will take time to resurrect itself -- that the spirit is waiting for all of its citizens to come home -- but whether or not it will is not a question. The Pulitzer Prize-winning author was scheduled pre-Katrina to discuss the ins and outs of writing the memoir with local author Sonny Brewer on Nov. 15 as part of the Coffee and Conversation series, a joint project of the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival and Jefferson Parish Library. Luckily, the people of New Orleans are a scrappy bunch and aren't going to let the flooding of their city get in the way of a literary event. Rick Bragg will be here with his love and maybe some new insight into the topic "What if Your Mama Sees It? -- The Pleasures and Perils of Writing Memoir." A Q&A session and book signing will follow. Free admission.
