Republican attorney Rob Couhig, who ran for mayor in 2006, is getting closer to making a decision about his intentions for the 2010 election. "I want to be mayor — that's no secret," Couhig told Gambit. He says he wants to make sure he has access to sufficient "assets" before qualifying next month for the Feb. 6 primary. "At this point I feel very comfortable with the way things are going," says Couhig. As of last week, Couhig and perennial candidate Manny "Chevrolet" Bruno were the only prospects among the 24 candidates who qualified for mayor in 2006 to have expressed interest in running for the post again in 2010. — Allen Johnson Jr.
