Robert Guthrie City Park Benefit

New Orleans painter Robert Guthrie will offer 40 original watercolor paintings of City Park in a benefit for the park. Guthrie is known for his colorful takes on local architecture, especially in scenes of the French Quarter. These new works all feature scenes with park landmarks like the Peristyle, antique carousel and live oaks. Paintings will be shown and available at the benefit. The preview party (6 p.m.-8p.m.) is open to the public but reservations are required (call Robert Guthrie Gallery at 552-4511). Half of all proceeds will be donated to City Park. Free admission. — Will Coviello
