Diggerslist.com, a new website that allows users to buy, sell or donate discounted and secondhand building materials ranging from kitchen appliances and paint to lighting fixtures and furniture, has opened a New Orleans site. Maple Street boutiques will stay open later than usual Thursday, Dec. 16 for holiday shopping. Angelique, Gae-Tana's, Em & Liv, Rye, Swap and Swap for Kids will extend store hours until 9 p.m.
The Old Ironworks (612 Piety St., 908-4741) hosts Old Ironworks Fiesta Mercado, an indoor and outdoor arts market, Saturday, Dec. 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Live music by Los Ritos de Swing and Mas Mamones, food items like tamales, veggie pizzas and burgers, and seasonal drinks by Old New Orleans Rum will accompany the sale of crafts, art and vintage items.
