Save from 10 percent to 50 percent off everything in the store during a huge summer sale July 11-20 at Arabella Fine Gifts (3902 Hwy. 22, Mandeville, 985-727-9787).

Fairly new to the area is an unusual shop that covers the age bases from 1-year-olds to moms. Colors (3000 Severn Ave., Metairie, 888-9065) sells toys for ages 1-6, including electric remote-control toys, motor scooters for ages 10 and up, wellness supplements to help you quit smoking, lose weight and other things, and women's fashion accessories, including handbags, jewelry, watches and more.

In conjunction with its 15th anniversary, Earthsavers has added health and wellness expert Orisia Haas of Covington to its staff and will offer customers free consultations with her every Thursday at the Metairie store (3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Lakeside Shopping Center, Metairie, 835-0225). With an approach that blends Eastern and Western practices, Haas will advise people about hormones, vitamins, skin and nail care, insomnia, weight, longevity and other areas.

Take 20 percent off a large selection of summer shoes and handbags (jewelry is excluded) to help Ele Shoes and Accessories (3638 Magazine St., 309-8674) make room for fall shoes and accessories.

The Great Room (1525 Lapalco Blvd., Timberstone Village, Harvey, 368-2552; www.greatroominc.com) just moved into a new location and is having a Grand Opening Sale Thursday, July 7, featuring discounts on everything in the store, new merchandise and women's clothing and accessories.

New Orleans Conservation Guild Inc. recently opened New Orleans Art Supply (3620 Royal St., 949-1525; www.noartsupply.com) to provide artists with high-quality professional-grade materials and supplies, many unavailable elsewhere in the region, including hand-ground Williamsburg oil paints, handmade Mount Vision pastels, Golden acrylics, DaVinci brushes, pre-stretched canvases, pottery, mosaic and glass-blowing materials and more. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Uptown Eyecare has settled into its swanky new digs at 4004 Magazine St. (899-EYES), where Dr. Ted Brown and his staff offer quality eye exams, designer frames and a selection of cosmetics.
