The French jewelry maker Cartier is donating $75,000 and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of its new LOVE collection bracelets to Mercy Corps, an international humanitarian agency that has supported relief and recovery efforts in the Gulf Region since Hurricane Katrina. Cartier is donating the $75,000 in recognition of R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe's charitable efforts after the musician donated all proceeds from his recording, "Into the Sun," to Mercy Corps' Gulf recovery programs. Cartier jewelry is available through a host of local jewelry stores.
