Ballin's Ltd. (806 E. Boston St., Covington, 985-892-0025) will host a dual trunk show featuring new fashions by Marisa Baratelli, including a new blouse collection, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, and Tuesday, Aug. 8. In addition, Deborah Kennedy will be in the store to help accessorize your outfits.

Doggie's Angel ( has printed a calendar for 2007, which features models with different dogs for each month, and will contribute 60 cents of each dollar of proceeds from sales of the calendar to the Louisiana SPCA to aid in the care of animals displaced by natural disasters such as Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The 16-month calendar, which measures 11-by-17 inches when open, costs $19.99. It includes images from photographers Suza Scalora, Francis Hills, Shun and Heideki, Lionel Deloy, Michael Maples, Jeff Xander and Daniel O'Neall, who snapped shots of a professional female model with dogs, some evacuees from Louisiana, some from shelters and others provided by animal trainers. Every item in the store is 30 percent off during the annual Remnant Riot Sale at Fabrixx Inc. (755 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, 831-1118) beginning Thursday, Aug. 3, through Saturday, Aug. 12.

Keating Magee advertising agency (600 Decatur St., Jax Brewery, 299-8000) is merging with Houston-based STANANDLOU advertising agency, a move that will expand its operations to Houston and Greenville, Miss., as well as maintaining its presence in New Orleans. For the time being, Keating Magee will keep its name and its present staff.

Omni Royal Orleans (621 St. Louis St., 529-5333; is offering live music by Fredy Omar, free salsa and chips and cool-down cocktails at Sippin' At Sunset on the Roof from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday in August. The weekly event, which starts Tuesday, Aug. 1, will take place at La Riviera, the hotel's seventh-floor rooftop bar. Glazer Distributors and Moet Hennessy will serve complimentary samples of 10 cane rum mojitos, which will be available for purchase later that evening.

Piccadilly Restaurants LLC last week reopened its location at 2222 Clearview Pkwy., Metairie, the seventh Piccadilly restaurant to reopen in the New Orleans area since Katrina.
