The new bags are made of all-natural, corn-based bioplastic and are 100 percent biodegradable.

The theme of Sweet Arts 2009 is "An International Tryst." The annual benefit gala for the Contemporary Arts Center (900 Camp St.) takes place on Friday, Jan. 16, and features four floors of international art, food, drinks and entertainment, including African drummers and stilt dancers, Japanese taiko drumming, Mexican mariachi, traditional Vietnamese singers and more.
