St. James Cheese Co. (5004 Prytania St., 899-4737; www.stjamescheese.com) will host guest chefs at a series of casual dinners in its courtyard. Greg Sonnier, chef at the Uptowner (438 Henry Clay Ave., 899-6500) events hall and former owner of the now-shuttered restaurant Gabrielle, cooks Oct. 9 and Nov. 13. Freelance chef Dan Esses is up Oct. 10, 17 and 24. The dinners begin at 6 p.m. and no reservations are taken. Visit the shop's Web site for menus.
