Strong Showing

Ochsner Health System ranks in the top 20 percent of health systems in the United States, according to a Top Health Systems study by Thomson Reuters. Ochsner was the only health system in Louisiana to make the list.

Ochsner's eight hospitals claimed a place in the top 20 percent in Best Performing Systems. The study discovered these systems often care for sicker and poorer patients, but also have better patient outcomes, efficiency, higher-quality care and better patient satisfaction scores than other institutions that deal with underserved communities.

The study examined mortality, complications, length of stay, patient safety and other core measures. The data generated by top performing systems provides benchmarks for health system leaders. — Ghawaly
