For those who prefer stellar dancing to dancing by stars,
Tango Fire is a spectacle of passion and elegance. The Buenos Aires-based company Estampas Porteñas was founded by ballerina Carolina Soler in 1996 to study and perform tango. The dance form evolved out of red-light districts in Argentina and Uruguay before the turn of the 20th century and eventually took a ballroom form. This touring show features 10 sharply dressed dancers onstage with a live band. The New Orleans Ballet Association brings the company to New Orleans for the first time. Tickets $30-$80.
