Tesla

A note of caution to any WWII enthusiasts planning a D-Day Museum visit this week: Be mindful you don't end up at a Tesla concert by mistake. Its 2007 covers album Real to Reel shares the name of a current wartime-cinema exhibit, after all, and with more than two decades of hair-flinging and guitar-slinging under its belt, the band has to be at least nearing veteran status. This concert, presented by music distributor Ryko, is a benefit for the Tipitina's Foundation, so even science geeks who only know of Tesla in electromagnetic terms have reason to attend. The Bittersweets and the Last Perfect Thing open. Tickets $15. — Noah Bonaparte Pais

9 p.m. Fri., Aug. 22
