Cian organized a volunteer committee of students, teachers and parents in the effort, which will collect boxes through May 7. including Orleans Parish 3rd District Assessor Erroll Williams, lack formal procedures for updating property values, says a recent report by the state Legislative Auditor's office. The audit says the assessors' practices cause some property owners to pay too much tax while others don't pay enough.
