a NOCCA student, won the Audience Program Award for the best experimental film at the recent Big Easy Shorts Festival, which showcased short films. The experimental category was open to all filmmakers, not just students, and there were a total of 63 entries in his category. A jury of professional filmmakers from across the country judged the films, and they declared LeBoeuf's A Game of Pool the winner.
Gov.-elect Bobby Jindal
recently wasted an opportunity to make a major policy statement and instead gave a warmed-over campaign speech at the annual meeting of the Council for a Better Louisiana, one of the state's leading reform groups. Worse, Jindal took no questions from the audience or the press afterward. During his race for governor, Jindal avoided "uncontrolled" news conferences, but he cannot expect to get away with a "Rose Garden" media strategy while governor.
