The Bluest Eye

In Toni Morrison's Pulitzer Prize-winning debut novel, The Bluest Eye, 11-year-old Pecola Breedlove and her two sisters are struggling to grow up in an Ohio family in the post-Depression era. She believes that blue eyes would save her from her problems, but her troubles are much more real and closer to home. Lydia Diamond adapted the story for the stage, and this is its Louisiana premiere. Adella Gautier directs Coti Gayles, Alozia St. Julien, Giselle Nakhid, Donna King, Roscoe Reddix Jr., Alex Lewis and others. Tickets $18 general admission, $16 students/seniors. — Will Coviello
