The Wind in the Willows

The Wind in the Willows is Kenneth Grahame's classic children's story about four forest-creature friends with very human problems. Mole never ventures outside his hole, Rat wastes most of his time lounging on the river, Badger is antisocial, and boisterous Mr. Toad loses his home because he's in trouble with the law for reckless driving. Despite their differences, the four animals team up to reclaim Toad Hall and have plenty of adventures along the way. The story was adapted for the stage by Tony award-winning playwright Alan Bennett. The NOLA Project, which offered inspired productions of Cloud Nine and The Misanthrope last summer, will perform the play for young audiences as part of Southern Repertory Theatre's City Series for visiting performance groups. Tickets $12. -- Emily Hohenwarter
