Twice as Nice

Count Basin? previews all the music of the second weekend at Jazz Fest.

Did you have as good a time the first weekend of Jazz Fest as the Count did? Maybe you couldn't go the first weekend of Jazz Fest 2003, and I feel your sadness. If you were out at the Fair Grounds dancing to the Iguanas or rocking with Bob Dylan, the Count hopes that his musical expertise -- as it has for more than a decade in Gambit Weekly -- helped you decide whom to hear amongst many tough decisions.

This week, like last week, I have scoured the Jazz Fest schedule and am here to provide you with the essential information about every performer playing at the Fair Grounds. So if you're wondering about a band from Ghana or Georgia, New Orleans or New York, Chalmette or California, the Count can help you navigate the beautiful musical map of Jazz Fest.

As usual, I have arranged all the musical acts chronologically by day, for maximum ease for you, dear readers. So take this copy of Gambit Weekly, place it in your backpack, and get ready to take in the second weekend of Jazz Fest.
