Homegrown oddity Vince Vance is one of New Orleans' most well-loved spectacles. He has treated audiences to his see-it-to-believe-it, high-energy stage spectacle since the early '70s. With his towering two feet of sprayed pompadour, saucy singing Valiantettes and a cavalcade of props, Vance puts on a rock 'n' roll circus, performing covers and a few originals, including the country-pop ballad 'All I Want For Christmas Is You," which gave the group a
Billboard hit some years ago. Over-the-top theatrics include vaudevillian gestures such as a performance of 'Splish Splash," which Vance sings while wearing flippers and a wading pool strapped around his waist. An added draw for this gig is Vance's Roman toga party and end-of-summer bikini contest, which features prizes of $1,000 for bikini contestants and $2,000 for toga sporters. Tickets $10.
