Local influence -- Imported by the Saint Michael Hunting and Fishing Club of Houma is Arcangelo Michele extra virgin olive oil, made from first cold pressed olives and non filtered to retain all its flavor, $9.99, from Dorignac's Food Center (710 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, 834-8216; www.dorignacs.com).


Envious green -- Highly recommended for true connoisseurs is the award-winning Laudemio from the estate of Marchesi de Froscobeldi in Sicily, an extra virgin olive oil made from Frantoio, Maraiolo and Leccino olives, $34.99, from Martin Wine Cellar (3827 Baronne St., 899-7411; 714 Elmeer Ave., Metairie, 896-7300).
