Vivian Fonseca Elected VP of Diabetes Association 

Dr. Vivian Fonseca, chief of endocrinology and professor of medicine and pharmacology at Tulane University School of Medicine, has been elected vice president of medicine and science for the American Diabetes Association (ADA) (800-342-2383; www.diabetes.org), the largest voluntary health organization for diabetes in the country.

  Fonseca, who is the Tullis-Tulane alumni chair in diabetes at Tulane and editor-in-chief of Diabetes Care, has been an ADA volunteer for more than 15 years and has served on the Professional Practice Committee, Research Policy Committee and the group's national board of directors. — Kandace Power Graves
