Dont be tricked into thinking youre making healthy food choices simply by giving up meat. Oddly enough, it is possible to be an unhealthy vegetarian. Diets based on cheese pizza, pasta with creamy sauces, packaged snack foods, French fries, sugary drinks and cream cheese bagels dont do you or your heart or weight any favors. Whether you eat meat or not, pay close attention to saturated fat intake and empty calories. Be sure to eat plenty of whole grain foods, vegetarian friendly, lean proteins and a colorful variety of vegetables and fruits every day for good health.
