Dry Creek Vineyard

Dry Chenin Blanc 2000

This light straw-colored Chenin Blanc is easy on the eyes, a jungle of fruit in the nose and a citrus tart with bitter almond crust in the mouth. It's an ideal, off-dry white for summertime, though slightly too rambunctious for unaccompanied sipping. Like a glass of salt-preserved lime and soda, this near-sparkling wine would cooperate well with a bowl of vermicelli noodles and lemongrass beef dressed in hot red chile and nuoc mam sauces. Found at Dorignac's, Martin Wine Cellar and some Sav-A-Center locations. -- Roahen
