Wine of the Week 

Owned by an English-born couple who lived in New Orleans from 1983-2000, Chateau Complazens was the result of a two-year search to find and purchase the perfect vineyard. Their dream was realized at La Clape in the Languedoc-Roussillon region in the south of France. Situated atop a limestone mountain 4 miles from the Mediterranean, the grapes feel the wrath of La Tramontage, the fierce winds characteristic of the area. Made from 60-percent Syrah, 30-percent Grenache and 10-percent Mouvedre, this well-made, wonderfully drinkable wine offers floral aromas with ripe plum, rosemary, thyme and black pepper on the palate. Good with jambalaya, red beans, roast chicken, duck and grilled vegetables. Available at Whole Foods Market on Magazine Street, Prytania Liquor Store, The Wine Seller, Bacchanal Fine Wines, Dorignac's, and Cellars of River Ridge.
