Wine of the Week 

One of the acclaimed wines imported by The Grateful Palate, which specializes in small estate-produced wines crafted by artisanal winemakers, Vox Populi exemplifies the proletarian concept implied by its Latin name as a value-priced wine, enjoyable by anyone, anytime. Made from 100 percent Grenache from 30- to 40-year-old vines grown in the Barossa Valley, half of the wine is aged in stainless steel and half in 1-year-old French Hogshead barrels. Finely structured and well balanced, the wine gives up raspberry, violets and spice aromas with more raspberry and cassis on the palate. Best when slightly chilled. Although approachable now, it would benefit from splash decanting and/or a couple more years of bottle aging. Good with grilled or roasted meats, stews and hearty seafood dishes.
