Arid soils and high altitudes in the Tierra de Castilla region in Spain's geographic heart south of Madrid near Toledo provided the grapes to produce this wine. A blend of 80 percent Tempranillo with 20 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine was aged in American oak barrels which accounts for its oaky notes along with ripe raspberry aromas. On the palate, the wine is soft and fruity with plum, black cherry and spice flavors. Well balanced with a good structure, the wine will improve with splash decanting. Good with grilled meats, herbed chicken, pizza or pasta dishes. Available at Cork & Bottle, most Sav-A-Centers, Sidney's Wine Cellar, Elio's Wine Warehouse, Dorignac's, Ferro's Supermarket and Rouse's on Veterans Memorial Boulevard near Transcontinental in Metairie.
