Although Alsace is part of France, the heart and soul of its predominantly white wine production reveals its German influence. Wines from the major grapes -- Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat and Pinot Blanc -- are often characterized by a combination of dramatic varietal fruit flavors, lively acidity and dryness, unless they're late-harvest wines. Fermented in stainless steel vats, this Pinot Blanc offers citrus, apple and mineral notes on the nose and a racy acidity and ripe fruit on the palate. A very food-friendly wine, good with seafood, Asian cuisine, escargot and onion tart. Available at The Wine Seller, Elio's Wine Warehouse, Dorignac's, and Hugh's Wine Cellar in Mandeville.
