Wine of the Week

Founded in the late 1970s, Nicolas Feuillatte is the world's youngest major Champagne house. Vibrant and intense, this bubbly exhibits an exquisite expression of its terroir of Premier and Grand Cru Champagne vineyards. In the glass, one is rewarded with wonderful aromatics of warm hazelnuts, pear and green apple and a delightful freshness and effervescence leading to citrusy, toasty flavors and a long, complex finish. A marvelous aperitif and great accompaniment to shellfish, chicken and soft French cheeses such as St. Marcellin, Langres and Brillat-Savarin. Where to buy it: Martin Wine Cellar in Metairie, Whole Foods Market, Rouse's, Hugh's Wine Cellar in Mandeville. Where to drink it: Dick & Jenny's, Tommy's Cuisine and Keith Young's Steak House in Slidell. (Listings current at press time.)
