For those lovers of lighter styled, bright and sprightly white wines who can't decide between the world's two light-bodied favorites — Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc — this wine is for you. A 50-50 blend of the two popular varietals, this wine is produced from estate-grown grapes just north of Verona in Italy's Veneto region. The family owned winery, founded in 1857, vinifies the two varietals separately before blending and spending about six months on its lees in stainless steel tanks. The wine's floral and fruit bouquet contains nuances of apricot and peach followed by citrus, herbal and mineral notes on the palate and leading to a racy, acid-balanced finish. Very good with seafood, creamed soups, grilled white fish and soft cheeses. Where to buy it: Cork & Bottle, Sidney's Wine Cellar and Dorignac's. Where to drink it: Tortorici's, Schiro's Wine Bar and Deli and the Olive Garden. (Listings current at press time.)
