Wine of the Week 

Chile, which predates wine production in New World regions California and Australia by several hundred years, is often referenced as the ideal setting to grow Cabernet Sauvignon. Partly aged in French and American oak for four months with the remainder maturing in stainless steel, this wine offers good quality at attractive pricing. Medium bodied with soft, chewy tannins, the wine is berry scented with undertones of clove and vanilla and bright, ripe plum and blackberry flavors on the palate with some cedar, cigar, earthy notes and a hit of alcohol on the backside. Splash decant for best results. Drink now and over the next five years. Good with char-grilled steaks or chops, meaty casseroles or stews and hearty cheeses.
