Wine of the Week 

If you haven't discovered French Chardonnay, i.e., white Burgundy or Bourgogne blanc, this wine is a good place to begin. The wine hails from Maconnais, Burgundy's southern-most parcel, where, traditionally, more value-priced Chardonnays are produced as compared to their northern cousins in the Cote d'Or. Aged in stainless steel, the wine illustrates what unmasked fruit character is possible with the varietal. Honeysuckle- and lemon-scented, the wine offers luscious flavors of fresh apple and citrus with hints of butterscotch, a crisp acidity and distinctive mineral notes on the finish. Enjoy it now as an aperitif or with fish, dishes with cream sauces, soups, white meats and light pasta dishes.
