Wine of the Week

For legions of enthusiasts, finding delicious, reasonably priced Pinot Noirs from lesser-known, up-and-coming regions like New Zealand's Central Otago is like a gift from the good earth. Wild Earth Wines produces this label. A blend of eight different Dijon and U.C. Davis clones from the Bannockburn Estate at the end of Felton Road, the wine offers enticing aromas of lush, bright, berry fruit followed by red and black cherry flavors with hints of spice and silky, well-integrated tannins. Drink it now and over the next two to four years. Enjoy this versatile food wine with tuna, salmon, roasted vegetables, grilled or roasted meats, fowl and game. Where to buy it: Rouses in Uptown, Prytania Liquor Store, The Wine Seller, W.I.N.O. and Dorignac's. Where to drink it: W.I.N.O. (Listings current at press time.)
