Lesem, who describes the patients she worked with at her former location as "great," says, "We want to be back in the heart of Lakeview like before. We are coming back."
Having earned an undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University before attending LSU's New Orleans-based dentistry school, Lesem has always operated her own practice. Her philosophy has remained the same for all 15 years: full-service family dentistry, working with everyone from several generations in a family to individuals looking for cosmetic work.
A lot of Lesem's patients come in specifically for cosmetic work, she says. "The two most common cosmetic procedures are bleaching and bonding," she says. Lesem describes bleaching as a teeth-cleansing process that improves color, whereas bonding is a procedure that adds a thin, white layer of filling to a tooth to enhance shape, color or alignment.
In terms of general family dentistry, Lesem's office, now located in a space shared with Dr. Ryan Thibodaux (815 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, 833-2220), offers everything from routine check-ups to cavity fillings, bridgework, crowns and root canals.
"It's a full-service practice," the dentist says. "Everything from general family (dentistry) needs to surgeries to cosmetic help is offered."
