Bad Girls deemed too bad for Kenner

Posted By on Thu, Feb 17, 2011 at 3:43 PM

Looks like the world won't ever get to see a deranged pack of hair-pulling, glass-throwing women work out their psychological issues in America's City (unless they start filming book club meetings). Fox 8 News reports Kenner mayor Mike Yenni pulled the plug on the taping of Bad Girls Boot Camp, a spin-off of Bad Girls Club, due to a neighborhood zoning law. The law stipulates that no more than four unrelated people can live in the same residence, so it's bye-bye to Bad Girls.

As previously reported, the Oxygen network reality show was set to film at former New Orleans Hornets coach Byron Scott's one-time Chateau Estates residence. Neighborhood residents upset by purple columns and the thought of partially clothed women frolicking in the home's back yard packed a meeting last night with City of Kenner and Jefferson Parish representatives. And even when producers promised "they won't let the 'bad girls' be partially clothed in the backyard if they are not allowed to," Yenni and the city attorney ultimately decided to halt taping.

Kenner isn't the only one denying those Bad Girls: Krewe of Tucks captain Lloyd Frischhertz says the show contacted him hoping to have the cast as the krewe's celebrity guest. Frischhertz said no because of ... timing reasons. "Because they contacted us at such a late time, it was impossible to accomodate them," he told Gambit. "And that's the reason I'm giving you."

With nary a hair pulled or a bitch slapped, the Bad Girls Bayou State foray is over. Here is a compilation of some moments from the series to make us contemplate the televised masterpiece this could have been.

R.I.P Bad Girls Boot Camp: Kenner Style, 2011-2011.

(Special thanks to intrepid intern Marta Jewson for the tip about Tucks.)
