Country Music Television wants to help with your mid-life crisis

Posted By on Fri, Mar 25, 2011 at 4:30 PM

MTV used to air the reality TV show MADE, which mostly depicted charismatic coaches yelling at teenagers at early hours of the morning so they'll achieve some goal, like becoming a cheerleader, a basketball player, or some more nebulous objective such as popularity. Now it looks like the show is expanding its repertoire to include adults crying after being told to do several push-ups at 7 a.m. — and you could be one of those adults!

Tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., MADE, which will now air on the Country Music Television network, is holding a casting call for those who "appear to be between" the ages of 25 to 55 (not sure what that means) at East Jefferson High School (400 Phlox Ave., Metairie). According to the press release, MADE is looking for people whose dreams eluded them:

What did you want to be growing up? Do you have a dream that you've always wanted to achieve but never got to realize? Do you have something you want to prove to your family? Do you often dream about getting back into your cheerleading uniform, winning a cook-off, rocking out with your old band, or getting another swing at that pitch that got away?

Now you don't have to stare at your children longingly as you drop them off at cheerleading practice — you could be out there, the 55-year-old (who is really 60 but appears to be younger) on top of a human pyramid. Click here for more details.

Also, in other reality TV casting news, the deranged sociological experiment Big Brother will be back in New Orleans casting for its next season Friday, April 8 at Gordon Biersch Restaurant (200 Poydras St.). They scouted New Orleans around this time last year, and I guess this city yielded enough crazies to justify a return. Click here for more details.
