Irvin Mayfield's Love Sessions benefit local organizations

Irvin Mayfield has announced the return of Love Sessions: A Festival of Giving, a 12-night series of concerts benefitting local non-profit organizations. The concerts begin at Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse (August 18-24) at the Royal Sonesta Hotel and feature trumpet battles between Mayfield and Kermit Ruffins. The series moves to Irvin Mayfield’s I Club at the JW Marriott New Orleans for five days (Aug. 25-29), where Mayfield will be joined by trumpeter Dee Dee Bridgewater. Tickets are available at

Each performance will benefit a different group, including the The New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic, The Times-Picayune Employee Assistance Fund, the New Orleans Public Library and others. Complete schedule concerts and groups after the jump.
