The Brooklyn Brewery Mash rolls into town next week with a six-day schedule of events at venues around town mixing cuisine, art, film, music and, of course, beer.

New Orleans is the second stop on an 11-city national tour for the Brooklyn Brewery Mash, which is organized by the New York-based brewery and benefits the nonprofit Slow Food USA. The Mash continues across the country all year, and at each stop event organizers orchestrate collaborations between people in the local food and art scenes and counterparts from Brooklyn traveling with the road show.

For instance, on March 14, the Bywater stand-out Maurepas Foods hosts a beer dinner called “Local, 2 Ways,” prepared by chef/owner Michael Doyle and Brooklyn Brewery “house chef” Andrew Gerson. That starts at 7 p.m. and costs $70. Call (504) 267-0072 for reservations.

On Sunday, March 17, Gerson will cook with Dinner Lab, a local underground dining club, for a “swamp to table” dinner at an undisclosed location. The Mash will use another secret location for an edition of Cooking Chaos, an interactive cooking party where guests bring the recipes and some of the ingredients.

Other food events include a March 16 talk with the founders of Brooklyn candy maker Liddabit Sweets and local food maven Poppy Tooker, and cooking demos from Gerson at next Saturday’s Crescent City Farmers Market and several Rouses markets through the week.

Next week’s Vendy Awards for street food vendors are sponsored by the Mash, and a DJ dance party at Siberia and the Found Footage Festival at La Nuit Comedy Theater are on the schedule too.

The Uptown craft beer hub the Avenue Pub serves as “Mash HQ,” from Tuesday through Friday. Details for all events are here.
