Gambit Sports Weekend: Football, basketball and baseball all on tap

Besides WrestleMania and all things wrestling — football, baseball and basketball are all going on this weekend in New Orleans.

Tulane Baseball (13-14)

The Green Wave take the diamond this weekend vs the University of Texas at San Antonio at Turchin Stadium on the Tulane campus. The series actually began this afternoon.

Friday April 4 vs UTSA **currently playing**

Friday April 4 vs UTSA 11 am ** will begin about 30 minutes after the first game**

Saturday April 5 vs UTSA 10 am

Prediction - Who wins? Tulane continues their up and down season with 2 more losses to the Roadrunners.

New Orleans Pelicans (32-43)

The Pelicans are on a weekend west coast road-trip.

Friday April 4 @ Utah Jazz - 8 p.m. • Energy Solutions Arena (FSNO)

Saturday April 5 @ Portland Trailblazers - 8 p.m. • Moda Center (FSNO)

Prediction - Who wins? Anthony Davis may be shut down for the final batch of games with back spasms. No AD means no wins for the Pelicans this weekend.

LSU Baseball (21-8-1)

The Tigers take on the ninth ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs in Baton Rouge at Alex Box Stadium.

Friday April 4 vs Mississippi State 6:30 p.m. (CST)

Saturday April 5 vs Mississippi State 6:30 p.m. (ESPNU)

Sunday April 6 vs Mississippi State 1 pm

Prediction - Who wins? The Tigers are struggling offensively and can't push across very many runs as of late. The struggles continue for Paul Maineri's tigers as they drop two out of three this weekend.

LSU Football

The Tiger football team has its annual spring game this weekend in Tiger Stadium. Here's some information on what to look for in the game.

UNO Baseball (8-18)

The Privateers head to San Antonio, Texas this weekend for a series against the University of the Incarnate Word.

Friday April 4 vs Univ. of the Incarnate Word - 7 pm

Saturday April 5 vs Univ. of the Incarnate Word - 3 pm

Sunday April 6 vs Univ. of the Incarnate Word - 1 pm

Prediction - Who wins? Unfortunately, the struggles continue for coach Ron Maestri's Privateers. They'll drop all three games this weekend and head to 8-21 on the year.
