Cellardoor now serving brunch Saturday and Sunday

Brunch lovers, get ready to stake your claim on a new spot for late morning dining while it's still (relatively) a secret.

The CBD's new-kid-on-the-block gastropub Cellardoor (916 Lafayette St.) is now serving a Saturday and Sunday brunch from 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

The menu is extensive and internationally flavored, with Hawaiian-inspired garlic rice masubi (soft scrambled eggs, Spam, miso caramel, wild mushroom lumpia frites and papaya-cucumber sunomono) sitting comfortably next to the "Breaux Bridge brunch" (crawfish boudin, mushroom mornay, cauliflower popcorn, chicken skin cracklin' and pimento cheese biscuit) on the menu.

The restaurant also boasts one of the most generous and massive lists of brunch cocktails in the city, including bottomless mimosas, screwdrivers, Bloody Marys and greyhounds for $15.

A small menu devoted to "fizzes" is particularly interesting, described as combining, "...a shot of spirit, citrus, sugar, soda [and] poetic license served in a beautiful 7.2 oz. Charles Schumann Delmonico." Spirit options include whiskey, scotch and gin, with Orange Julius also making a curious appearance.

Don't worry, Saints fans: gigantic television screens will show the game every Sunday, so you can simultaneously brunch and cheer (or groan, as the case may be).
