On December 6, masters of the croissant will come together at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum to compete for the title of Best Croissant-maker. The Concours de Croissant is hosted by the Alliance Francaise of New Orleans, and the best part is that the competition is open to everyone. There's a "Professional Pastry Chef" category, but there's also "Amateur Baker" and "Freestyle."

It's free to compete, and the public is invited to taste and judge with voting cards (sold at $1 each). The cost to get in is admission to the museum ($10 for adults, $5 for students and free for seniors and kids under 12). Admission also gets you three free voting cards, and there will be free Cool Brew coffee once your inside.

The Alliance will also host a talk on the history of the croissant, and there will be cooking demonstrations to learn how to make your own. There will also be interactive activities for kids. The Concours starts at 10 a.m. and will last till 1 p.m. To enter as a contestant, click here
