Elvis Costello's "Detour" heads to New Orleans in March 2015

Songwriter Elvis Costello launches his solo "Detour" tour next spring, visiting 13 cities across the south and mid-west. Costello performs March 12 at the Civic Theatre, and tickets are on sale Friday, Dec. 5.
Costello — a prolific songwriter whose career spans acclaimed early punk-influenced efforts to his embrace of Americana and beyond — is a friend to New Orleans, where he has performed several times in recent years and in 2006 recorded the Grammy-nominated The River in Reverse with Allen Toussaint. He also played himself in the pilot of HBO's Treme.
In June, Costello previewed his upcoming solo performances with a one-man career-spanning show at Carnegie Hall.
