Richard Gomez
has been tapped to head up the bar program at chef Nina Compton’s highly anticipated Warehouse District restaurant, Compere Lapin (www.comperelapin.com).

Gomez, whose previous gigs include stints at Freret Street hotspot Cure and Commander’s Palace, will join Top Chef New Orleans fan favorite Compton when her restaurant in the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery opens in June.

Gomez, a New Orleans native, and Compton, who hails from Saint Lucia, “clicked instantly over a shared vision and passion for the hospitality industry,” according to a press release from Compton’s public relations team.

Gomez’ drinks program, which is designed to complement Compton’s Caribbean background as well as highlight the French and Italian influences in her cuisine, will showcase a selection of the Gulf’s indigenous ingredients.
