New Orleans honky tonking country-folk ensemble The Deslondes released its debut self-titled album on New West Records last month, and the band has been on the road since, with more dates through September across Europe. But the band dropped a hometown-shot video for "The Real Deal," one of the more light-hearted (yet still a bit of a heartbreaker) songs from the album, which spans lonesome cowboy folk tunes, three-part harmony country and gospel-influenced rhythm and blues. The video — directed by Josh Shoemaker and premiered on Rolling Stonehas the band dodging groupies, doing magic, getting kicked out of the house and performing at Mag's, one of the band's regular stages.

Singer and guitarist Riley Downing told Rolling Stone he wrote it after a "lady friend" had "ran off with somebody else but didn't tell me and was still trying to act like we were fine. It's about getting the wool pulled over your eyes."

The band also recently performed at the American Songwriter office with tourmate Twain (who also is a longtime friend of Deslondes singer and guitarist Sam Doores, who sang with Twain in their school's gospel choir). For a more somber, harmony-filled Deslondes cut, watch Twain and the band perform Washington Phillips' "What Are They Doing in Heaven Today?" here and watch "The Real Deal" below.
