"Katrina Artistically Revisited" brings 12-hour marathon of films, music and art to Canal Place today

The 10th annual "Katrina Artistically Revisited" multimedia event presents a 12-hour marathon of film screenings and free music performances, art exhibitions and guest speakers at The Theatres at Canal Place today, Aug. 28, starting at noon. Three feature films will be screened: Big Charity: The Death of America's Oldest Hospital (noon and 5:30 p.m.), Forgotten on the Bayou (7 p.m.) and The Big Uneasy (8:45 p.m.), each followed by Q&A sessions with the filmmakers. Tickets are $5. All other parts of the event are free and open to the public. Guest speaker topics include "River Pilots and Katrina" and "Lower Ninth Ward Katrina Story Never Before Told in Public." A variety of Katrina-related short films will also be screened. See the full schedule here.
