New Orleans, Here and Now, an anthology of six short, locally made documentaries about New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and the levee failures, will debut tonight, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. at Lupin Hall in the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), 2800 Chartres Street. Executive produced by Patricia Clarkson and Scott Bakula, the 10-to-13-minute films range widely in subject matter, from a portrait of To Be Continued Brass Band to Pho Tau Bay's struggles to reopen a restaurant after losing their West Bank lease to Walmart. Producers include Dan Janvey and Noah Stahl of Court 13, the local film collective behind Beasts of the Southern Wild. Among the six directors are Zach Godshall (Low and Behold) and Lily Keber (Bayou Maharajah).

The films will be available on streaming services including Hulu, iTunes and Google Play later this month. Tonight's screening is free and open to the public.
