• Wayfare (4510 Freret St., 504-309-0069) is running October specials to promote its selection of 30 beers on tap. The restaurant serves sandwiches, salads and daily specials and is highlighting two local seasonal beers with specific dishes. Also, after 4 p.m. daily, patrons can sample four 8-ounce beers for $10, and the deal is $8 on Tuesdays.

This week, the specially priced flight includes Brooklyn Brewery's Greenmarket Wheat, Great Raft Brewing’s Provisions and Traditions Vol. 3, an oak-aged marzen style, Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter IPA and New Belgium Brewing Company's Le Terroir. The featured food pairing is Provisions and Traditions with Wayfare’s "BL(fg)T" sandwich, a BLT with fried green tomato, spicy mayonnaise and sweet potato habanero sauce.

Starting Oct. 26, the beer flight will focus on NOLA Brewing beers, including Blonde Ale, Hopitoulas IPA, Darkest Before Dawn seasonal lager and Irish Channel Stout. The brewery chose the item paired with Darkest Before Dawn: Wayfare’s porchetta sandwich, featuring pork loin wrapped in pork belly with caramelized onions, arugula, salsa verde and fennel aioli. NOLA Brewing's Davis Cranford says the fennel in the sandwich enhances the dunkel characteristics of the beer.

• World of Beer locations in the Warehouse District (300 Julia St., 504-299-3599; and Metairie (4100 Veterans Memorial Blvd., 504-266-2689; are introducing a new seasonal menu this month. The menu includes five food items with beer pairing recommendations and three cocktails. Cornbread is made to order, topped with arugula, roasted corn, Cojita cheese and chili-lime butter, and the restaurant recommends pairing it with a pale ale. NOLA Brewing's Brown Ale goes with meatloaf sliders served with bacon, onion and NOLA Brown gravy. An Oktoberfest or marzen style beer goes with the pimiento cheese board with bacon-onion jam. Also on the menu is Colorado chili made with steak, chorizo and red beans and habanero-pumpkin spice wings.
