Uptown brunches might get a little more festive at Riccobono's Panola Street Cafe (7801 Panola St., 504-455-2266) now that the neighborhood spot got the green light from New Orleans City Council to apply for a liquor permit.

On Thursday, city council members approved a conditional use request from the restaurant’s owners. The restaurant has yet to apply for the actual permit to sell alcohol, but owner Vince Riccobono all but assured that will happen “very soon.”
