  • Burmese salads and curries will be served when Lahpet pops up at the St. Claude Avenue Fair Grinds Coffee House on April 24 and 25.

Uptown po-boy and sandwich shop The Grocery (2854 St. Charles Ave., 504-895-9524) is rolling out breakfast hours beginning April 28. New to the menu at deli, which re-opened under new ownership earlier this year, is a lineup of pressed breakfast po-boys.

Po-boy combinations include scrambled eggs with cheese, ham or bacon and pepper jelly or herbed cream cheese. Other breakfast sandwiches include the Hungry Tourist on French bread with alligator sausage, scrambled eggs, sauteed onions and remoulade, and the Dryades Reuben, which features egg, corned beef, sauerkraut, Russian dressing and Swiss cheese on an English muffin.

Breakfast in a Cup features grits topped with scrambled eggs and toppings such as ham, bacon, cheddar, Swiss or American cheese.

Breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. daily.

Burmese concept Lahpet is popping up April 24 and 25 at the St. Claude Avenue Fair Grinds Coffee House (2221 St. Claude Ave.) The team behind the Burmese concept, which began as a pop-up in 2014, ended its lunch service at Mid-City restaurant Milkfish when that restaurant closed in March.

The two-day event features signature Lahpet dishes including fermented tea leaf salads and curries. The pop-up includes lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 24 and dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 25.

A portion of the proceeds from the pop-up will benefit One World Family International Peace organization, an sponsorship program for ethnic refugees from Myanmar living in Thailand.
