Cafe Henri, a new restaurant from the Cure team, is now open in Bywater.

The space at 800 Louisa St. takes over the blue corner building formally home to Booty’s Street Food, which closed in January.  The casual space is outfitted with white tile and blonde wood. Ample bar seating rounds out a handful of tables, and the small space can fill up fast.

The restaurant, from Cure Co.’s Neal Bodenheimer, Kirk Estopinal and Nick Detrich, was inspired by their fathers and envisioned as a casual and family-friendly spot.

Chef Jason Klutts (also from Cane & Table and Cure) offers a short, streamlined menu of bistro-style fare, including a burger topped with Russian dressing and pickles, steak frites with chimichurri, brisket lasagna made with housemade pasta and pan-seared salmon served with snow peas and cherry tomatoes.

Starters include a dish of heirloom tomatoes nestled in roasted garlic aioli, and fried oysters top thick slices of beef carpaccio with Parmesan and arugula. A simple dessert list includes a cookie plate and a pie of the day.

Though the Cure team is known for its cocktail prowess, there are no original creations here, only classics, including Tom Collins and martinis. There is also a frozen version of a Negroni and full coffee and espresso service from Counter Culture Coffee.

Cafe Henri is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
