Don’t let the heat get you down, cool off at these upcoming beer events.

New Belgium Brewing celebrates its 25th anniversary by inviting other breweries to create their takes on New Belgium’s flagship beer, Fat Tire. Avery, Allagash, Rhinegeist, Firestone Walker and Hub Hopworks all participated, and New Belgium "Swamp Ranger" Buck Brown says, “Each brewery is doing their own interpretation of Fat Tire and really playing up to their strengths when brewing their version.“ All beers are available in a special release 12-pack, and bar events around town feature kegs of all the beers.

There are Fat Tire and Friends collaboration events at The Avenue Pub on June 10, The Bulldog Uptown on June 15, Courtyard Brewery on June 16, World of Beer in the Warehouse District on June 17, Cooter Brown’s on June 18, and The Bulldog Mid-City on June 22. Check the social media of each bar for start times and other location-specific information.

The World of Beer Warehouse District celebrates National Bourbon Day with a Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout beer dinner on June 14, starting at 6:30 p.m. The dinner features Goose Island's Bourbon County Barleywine, Brand Stout and Rare, a stout aged for 2 years in 35-year-old Heaven Hill barrels. This is a ticketed event with limited seating. Call (504) 299-3599 for reservations. Pre-sale tickets are $50 and $60 day-of.

Whole Foods Market Arabella Station launches a summer series of craft beer and food  events from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 16. For $15, customers get house-smoked brisket, coleslaw, baked beans and samples from 10 regional and national breweries, including Urban South, Chandeleur and Lagunitas. Tickets are available online. Whole Foods also holds craft beer tastings with Bastille Day-inspired food on July 14 and there is a shrimp boil on August 11.

Abita Brewing Company celebrates the “Turbo Dog Days of Summer,” a fundraiser for the Louisiana SPCA from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 18. Dog owners and their furry friends are welcome to enjoy the Abita outdoor grounds (with canine pools, fans and a copious amount of shade.) Twenty percent of all beer sales and Turbodog merchandise will be donated to the LASPCA. Admission is free. Entertainment includes a dog costume contest and live music. Abita also promises a special beer for the event, no word yet on if it will be for humans or dogs.
