New Orleans-based record label Community Records presents its ninth annual, daylong music festival showcasing some of its roster highlights and touring artists at One Eyed Jacks on Saturday, Oct.  22.

The 2016 edition of Community Records Fest — formerly Block Party — includes Gland, Slingshot Dakota, Dowsing, Ratboys, Football, Etc., All People, Pope, Boyfriend Material. A Living Soundtrack, Sexy Dex & The Fresh, Hestina, Mean Girls, Treadles and Hughes & The Saturation. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

There also is an all-ages pre-festival show Friday, Oct. 21 at Hey! Cafe with Stuck Lucky, Pudge, Zach Quinn and Tare. Admission is $5.

Tickets to the show at One Eyed Jacks are $15 in advance through Sept. 14, then $17 until the day of the show, and $20 at the door. A portion of all proceeds will benefit Sexual Trauma Awareness and Response (STAR).

The festival's move to One Eyed Jacks signals a new home for 2016 as it approaches its decade-long, stalwart-status clearinghouse and foundation for all things DIY in New Orleans. Block Party began as an annual takeover of The Big Top gallery and its adjoining 1600 block of Clio Street, hosting dozens of punk rock bands and alternative artists on two or three stages inside and outside the space. In 2014, following that venue's closure, Block Party was held inside the Carver Theater. Last year, Block Party spread over two nights at Gasa Gasa.
